Thurs 17Sept evening:
Atlantic:
-90L became TD22, looks to meander around the Western to maybe near Central Gulf / near Texas/Mexico for awhile. Models suggest disorganized blob to maybe a named Tropical Storm in the coming days.

-98L following behind Teddy at 50% but models say short lived.
*Make sure to follow Teddy...Impacts into Nova Scotia likely, NE US Cape Cod / Maine region possible.

C Pac area well SW of Hawaii 20% chance.

Recon checking out TD22 in the Gulf had radar damaged by lightning strike this AM and turned back home before reaching center.

98L in the far Atlantic becomes TS Wilfred. The last name available for 2020 list. Any new names will use Greek Alphabet which has only occurred previously in 2005 season.
Apparently Alpha/Alfa was also used in May 1972 for a storm off the SE US coast that made landfall near Savannah, GA. Technically was part of the NATO phonetic alphabet tho. https://twitter.com/drmetwatch/statu...70653862572038

Three Atlantic named storms have formed today: September 18, 2020 - #Wilfred #Alpha #Beta. The only other time on record that the Atlantic had 3 named storm formations on the same calendar day was August 15, 1893.
