Heck Cedar Rapids Iowa had an event this summer that was at least as destructive as the last 5 or so "hurricanes" that made landfall. Anything much less than Donna, Carla, Camille, or the sort isn't even news. (but that was 50 - 60 years ago - we no longer have hurricanes like that [Katrina merely flooded a city that sits below sea level[).

Fri afternoon 16-Oct:
Atlantic:
-Invest 94L, non-tropical Low 600miles ESE of Bermuda, 60% chance Sub-Tropical or Tropical formation. Meanders SE of Bermuda, maybe clips them, then out to sea.

-NW Caribbean 30% chance formation next week. GFS & CMC have been fairly consistent on developing storm late next week, taking across Cuba then Bahamas. Euro showing a little more interest in development as well but mostly just tropical moisture blob or weak development for now.

-Looking quiet after this.

E Pac / C Pac: Looking quiet.

That will be another FL miss. I don't expect any action for 10 more years.
