Fri 5June 8pEDT/7pCDT:
Winds 40mph(65km/h)
Moving N 13mph(20km/h)
Pressure 998mb

Some US Watches changed to Warnings this afternoon (Expected: time based so means we're within 36hours or less of starting) for Storm Surge (water 3ft or more) and Tropical Storm (winds of 39mph+). Surge is an issue at and East of the center as counter clockwise direction pushes water up along the coast, even all the way to the FL Peninsula. Rain (poss inland flooding) with rain near and along the Gulf coast and portions of the lower MS Valley of 4-8inches, isolated 12inches; mid-MS valley 2-4", isolated 6" (per NHC update).

And here's this evenings storm video from Tropical Tidbits (always recommend): https://youtu.be/aWGkrvvb8SA

Fri 5June 11pEDT/10pCDT:
Winds 45mph(75km/h)
Moving N 14mph(22km/h)
Pressure 998mb
TS winds (39mph+) extend up to 240 miles away from center, mainly North & East, the SW corner basically has nothing with it currently.

Sat 6June 8aEDT/7aCDT:
Winds 50mph(85km/h)
Moving N 12mph(19km/h)
Pressure 992mb
As expected, slow steady strengthening, stuck going generally North, and lop-sided more sub-tropical looking storm with most of the wind/rain North and East of the storm center which is beginning to move onshore. The actual center makes landfall late Sunday. Heavy rains with flooding, especially near the Gulf coast likely, brief weak tornadoes from Louisianan to FL Panhandle are also likely to occur starting later today and through Sunday.

Sat 6Jun around noon: Current tornado threat is currently highest along portions of the FL Peninsula, but overall low, so no Tornado Watch currently active. Focus for tornadoes will shift to the Northern Gulf coast later today/tonight/Sunday.

I posted the 12z GFS wind gust (in Knots) model run from now thru Tuesday. The exact location for winds may shift but the point is winds of near 40mph or more are possible well inland, and that's just enough to start seeing downed trees and power lines.

Looking like I'll be on the weaker side of the storm and the projected path has been shifting a bit further east. Hoping I still get some decent rainfall from it.

With everyone semi-locked-down and news beyond Covid-19 and the riots pretty much non-existent, even a 'nothing-burger tropical storm gets elevated to "News status."

Beyond the immediate circumstances, this is nothing more than a little rainstorm. The fact that it was being 'hyped' by the media, while it was barely off the coast of Central America, only further emphasizes the dearth of real news.

Tornado went through part of Orlando area while ago. Looks like it was briefly fairly good size too. Multiple tornadoes have been spawned in FL today.
