Power went out for me for about 1/2 hour last night.
Wind and pelting rain. No major damage by me although I read that Cherry Grove (northern most part of NMB) was under 4 feet of water at one point due to high tide and surge. Many homes up that way are not on stilts.
Headed to the beach at 6am. The high tide and surge totally flattened the beach from the dunes down to the water.
You could tell the surge went into the parking lot.
A bit blustery this morning and cool..low 70's.
Got a good pic that shows how flattened out the sand became.
Here in the D.C. area this was a big ole nothing burger. It stopped raining before noon and it would surprise me if this was even the biggest amount of rain we got this summer so far. There were a few days in July with rounds of storms that seemed more productive in terms of precipitation.

Latest Tornado Watch encompasses all of MA and portions of surrounding states. From what I see on radar are single cell storms heading from MA into Vermont & New Hampshire as well as that big feeder ban coming across Long Island most likely where these may occur currently but have your weather source that’ll get you Warnings should they pop up. They’ll be moving very fast if pop up, as fast as that rain on radar is moving, & typically in same direction. https://twitter.com/nwseastern/statu...95603211640833
