Here in North Myrtle Beach...morning was very calm..little to no wind and overcast. The ocean was a churning though about the same as yesterday. Lots of sea spray in the air today...my glasses kept hazing over with the spray.
Isaias has weakened to a tropical storm (max sustained winds of 70 mph) but is expected to re-strengthen to a hurricane overnight. Isaias is located about 115 mi SE of Fort Lauderdale, FL and is moving to the northwest at 12 mph.
Also want to note that after expected brush/landfall with FL that it's likely to re-emerge briefly back over the warm waters of the Atlantic and try to reorganize a tad before coming into SC & NC. Residents there need to be finishing prep for possible strong Tropical Storm, several inches of rain with flooding potential (not a Florence, but heavy rains likely to lead to some scattered issues), scattered power outages and downed trees (winds of around 40mph and higher is typically when tree/power issues begin).
Those extremely warm waters right there are fertilizer for storms and it’s reacting accordingly. That is really dark blue representation there too, very moist air on Cambium’s pics.
