Ya, I think being able to feel the power of storms on the beach like that is what got me into Hurricanes.

Mon 3Aug 5aEDT/AST:
Winds 70mph(110km/h)
Moving N 9mph(15km/h)
Pressure 994mb

At 730a: Interesting on the morning recon passes the center seems a little elongated compared to last 24hours. Cloud tops have warmed. Doesn't look as organized in last hour or two as before. The stronger winds are mainly on the East side.

At 5a NHC updated Watch/Warnings: (*see picture Cambium posted on previous page for quick visual of Watch/Warnings)
-Hurricane Warning South Santee River, SC to Surf City, NC.
-TS Warning/Watch extended further North.
-TS Warning canceled from S of Flagler/Volusia Co line.

-Storm Surge values upped some:

The 8a update had no changes. 70mph and heading North. Isaias appears to be getting pulled up by the approaching front, scattered showers spreading portions of coastal SC and NC.

What an odd coincidence. The wind speed was below 5mph except for the short time I was on the beach and then it jumped up to 17mph.

It was calm when I left the house. Windy when I got to the beach and then calm again when I got home.

Like it’s getting squeezed in a vice this morning, not healthy looking. :

Monday 10a- scattered showers making their way inland into central and Eastern SC & NC. In heavier showers some of these, such as near Tybee Island earlier and Northeast NC currently, are bringing gust around 40-45mph. I would expect brief tornado spin ups in some of these storms in the Carolina’s or E VA as the day goes on and more tonight.

I follow this guy (a local meteorologist for our local news).
Lot of early morning photos of the beaches of SC and NC at various times.

Mon 3Aug 11aEDT/AST:
Winds 70mph(110km/h)
Moving N 13mph(20km/h)
Pressure 998mb

NHC will hold current winds at 70 for this update which they admit is "perhaps a little generously". Although Isaias is not looking very organized or healthy, winds are still strong out on the East & NE side and we may have had a center jump to the East as it tries to salvage itself once more. NHC is holding it's intensity forecast due to this repeating behavior to reorganize then weaken as it would be due to start reorganizing again soon, if it does. Wind shear will also be decreasing through the day so it will have it's chance. Just don't know if it'll jump at it or not.

NHC mentions that due to jetstream position and strength, the resultant forcing will help hold Isaias core more intact and help spread gusty winds once inland as it zips off to the NE so that's why TS Warnings so far up into New England.

Watch/Warning changes:
-Storm Surge Warning for portions of Pamlico & Albemarle Sounds of E NC including Neuse & Pamlico Rivers, and up to the NC/VA border.
-TS Warning & Watch extended further North.
-Warnings South of Altamaha Sound, GA (just N of Brunswick, GA) canceled.
