Expected to pass over and/or along the coast of Hispaniola, then Cuba. Higher terrain disrupts storms but if can stay just N or S then could see a little more organization or at least hold together. No surprises expected until exiting Cuba due to land interaction currently (always watch for changes though). Future intensity in the Gulf will depend what shape its in when exits Cuba/FL straits region then track on if it keeps it over water longer before coming into US Gulf coast. First and one of the largest hurdles is Hispaniola overnight into Sunday. NHC cone has hurricane landfalling in vicinity of LA coast Wed pm (TX, MS, AL keep an eye on it for changes/track too), timing and location along the Gulf coast subject to change again but we are looking at only about 4 days until a likely hurricane hits US Gulf coast, just after Marco does. With Marco speeding up they look less likely to affect each other but possibility of some interaction remains.

Watch/Warning updates:
-TS Watch FL Keys - Ocean Reef & South & Andros Island of Bahamas
-TS Warning about E half of Cuba

"Overnight weather model data for Laura is foreboding.

Our best guidance shows a "massive hurricane" intensifying over the open Gulf of Mexico heading west to TX/LA coastline by mid-week.

Only thing we can do is hope Laura does not reach its full potential."

Tropical Storm Laura (bottom right) looking more healthier than Marco but NHC keeps it a TS into the Gulf.
