First named storm of the East Northern Pacific hurricane season! Became TD01e late last night, now Tropical Storm Agatha as storms fire up and takes on the classic shape. As of 4aCDT(5aEDT): Winds 40mph(65km/h), moving West 3mph(6km/h), pressure 1004mb. Hurricane Watch Salina Cruz to Punta Maldonado, Mexico.
Heavy rains expected in states of: Oaxaca 10-16in(250-400mm), isolated 20in(500mm); Chiapas and eastern Guerrero 5-10in(125-250mm), isolated 15in(380mm); Vera Cruz and Tabasco 2-4in(50-100mm), isolated 6in(150mm).
NHC expects storm to turn up N then NE making landfall as Hurricane Monday into Southern Mexico, into or near Bay of Campeche late Tue / early Wed as Depression, if survives the trip over.
Sat 28May 5pEDT/4pCDT: Winds 60mph(95km/h), moving NNW 5mph(7km/h), pressure 998mb. Steadily strengthening. Center about 170miles (270km) SW of Puerto Angel, Mexico. TS winds extend up to 70miles (110km) from center.
Sun 29May 11aEDT/10aCDT: Winds 85mph(140km/h), moving NNW 2mph(4km/h), pressure 981mb. Rapidly intensifying. Expected to make landfall later Monday as 110mph Cat2 which is almost Cat3. Center about 200miles (3200km) WSW of Puerto Angel, Mexico. Hurricane winds extend up to 15miles (30km) from center, TS winds 80miles (130km).

Mon 30May 5aEDT/4aCDT: Winds 110mph(175km/h), moving NE 6mph(9km/h), pressure 964mb. NHC says satellite data shows storm stayed steady intensity overnight. Storm finally moving, was nearly stationary. TS winds being reported in state of Oaxaca.
Mon 30May 5pEDT/4pCDT: Winds 80mph(130km/h), moving NE 8mph(13km/h), pressure 981mb. Made landfall near Puerto Angel, Mexico. Will dissipate quickly over mountainous terrain. Heavy rainfall being squeezed out by mountains will create flooding and landslides.
