Area along South Mexico coast was designated PTC16e Saturday evening. Later Sunday became TS Max. As of 11aEDT Mon 9-Oct: winds 60mph(95km/h), moving NNE 5mph(7km/h), pressure 996mb. Center about 50miles(80km) SSE of Zihuatanejo, Mexico. Several inches of rain to fall across portions of Mexico with it. Landfall this afternoon and rapid weakening thereafter. Moisture heads into the Gulf.

8pEDT Mon 9-Oct: winds 40mph(65km/h), moving NNE 7mph(11km/h), pressure 1003mb. Center about 30miles(50km) NE of Zihuatanejo, Mexico. Inland, passing over 6k+ft high mountains. Will continue to rapidly weaken. Heavy rains with flood potential.
