Yep. Another season of drought. And here we've been fed climate change was going to give us lots of bad hurricanes.... Just wonder what the new excuse will be now?

It can also cause an extended lack thereof.
Hurricanes help regulate the climate. Climate change refers to a change the Earth's natural cycle for maintaining the climate.

As lcole07 posted we have not yet reached the peak of the storm season, alot can happen between now and October.
Nearby GOM water temps are near 90degrees

yes i know that the peak of hurricane season is the 10 of sep.. it's looking like the same kinda conditions that we had last year. but with record ocean temps , humidity etc.. down here in the usvi we are experiencing the same kind of conditions we did in 2005, but without the storms by this time in 2005 we were up to like 13 storms could look it up to get exact amount but i know it was a lot..

this year we are at 5 storms two of which should not have been even classifed as stroms.. the only real storm was storm number one that went over the yucatan peninsula and came out in the south western gulf, can't remember the name of that one

Come back around October 30th 2010 let us know your feelings....

Just look at the 1998 cane season and see
No storms in June
Only one storm in July
No storms in August until the 21st.
After that the season ended up with
14 Total storms
10 of which were Hurricanes
3 of these Canes were majors
Deaths from these were over 11,000

Hello???

When you say the season is going to be a dud, do you mean we aren't going to have a lot of hurricanes (as again predicted by the Colorado State Univ. prediction "experts")?? From a Floridian's perspective, we cheer that type of 'dud' season! -- Who needs $$billions of damage, disrupted lives and a frantic media over-hyping every tropical depression??

You do, I am sure, understand the difference between weather and climate, between incidence and trend, and of course you understand the Monte Carlo Fallacy.

Right?
