The question is "Does Ike like the east coast beaches or will he opt to continue on so visit the gulf beaches". To early to tell but he appears to coming our way.

Yeah, I am in it, what does it mean if I'm in it? Does that mean i'm just getting the outer rain bands? Or does that mean I'm getting full on hit (obviously it can change, but just from that picture). I'm in Miami.

It is the "cone of uncertainty". (You can tell I'm a Weather Channel geek) If you are in it, you can get hit head on or just outer bands.

I don't watch TV so I don't know what they are saying. I only look at the NOAA site and a couple more. I don't need rating hype. Just the current facts. At the moment no. Ike seems to bent on visiting south FL.

Ike is a wait and see situation. Basically something we South Floridians have to pay attention to as we are now in the 5 day cone and there is a Cat 3 storm out there.

IF we are put under any watches or warnings we will have pleanty of time to prepare.

But as well all know things can change from day to day when we are talking about a 5 day cone.

I find the least hype on the local channels is channel 10. The have a great weather team including Max Mayfield (Retired Hurricane Center Director) They don't go overboard and the just report the facts that we need to know.

I live on Long Island and im a little worried about hanna. Its only supposed to be a tropical storm when it hits but im afraid of it strengthening. We get flooded in a normal rain storm.Ike looks like its going to be a disaster.I truly hope it does not follow hannas track.
