Manatee county as some of the best beaches and some of the best summer storms to photograph lightning from too. We may or may not see a single hurricane make landfall this year....

Nomadicus,

Thank you for the tip..i certainly plan on spending at least some of my leisure time adding to my portfolio( which is despirately in need of up-to-date material)..and just watching nature at her best..i can only imagine all the ooos' and ahhhs' to come.. I just must remember that there are far more strikes per Sq mile there, compared to Kansas..can't stay on a beach too long after i see a blot hit the water....even if i probably would

As for the current lull in activity, i think the same pattern occured in 92..carefully watching things this year. Im starting to wonder if the in-activity recorded in recent sunspot activity has been influencing things over the past couple years..

Looking over some charts when reading the article about an up tick in activity, i couldn't see any correlations but..in a little skeptical

Doesn't mean a thing. Remember season doesn't end until November 31st. Just make sure you are prepared in case a hurricane were to head to the USA.

..Yep, he did it, say hello to Hurricane Carlos..who is already reaching out an arm into CA. via the water vapor channel..

As for what remains of Blanca..thanks for the images..please feel free to check out my album..the only catch, Had to work today so i couldn't get more pictures..I almost missed getting the picture of the storm wandering through around sunset..we did get sprinkles though..we'll see what Carlos brings..Perhaps i will have the day off..lol

As for back east, yes..it is wayy too early to let down your guard..and i suspect something will soon be making an appearance..just to bring everyone some excitement..
