Exactly,
Which is why, despite that loud, nagging thought in the back of my mind which may be utterly stunned if August..or even September remain silent..NO one should let their guard down...All it takes is another Charley or Andrew..Which i hope is not just out of view..

OK, so i just took a look at the Storm surf weather models for the north Atlantic (surface pressure and winds)..
IF... what the models are depicting DOES pan out...Sometime around the 16th..there MIGHT... be something..maybe even 2 "somethings" of interest to pay attention to.. Again, this is looking all the way into next weekend and beyond...when a couple blips seem to develop on this site's weather models...

Just took a look over today's run on Storm Surf (For both the N. Atlantic/Gulf of Mex./Caribbean and N.E Pacific) And the models continue to deepen the apparent system way deep in the Atlantic..seen around Aug 16-17..
The N.E. pacific also looks active with two possible areas roaming around at that time..
Of note,: i saw that the weather service updated the color code for the area near the Cape Verds to Orange..so, this one really needs to be watched..
Back this way, there is a Trop depression which is forecast to progress into a Tropical Storm..and another area to watch for possible development..
looks like things are starting to get interesting...or so it seems..

The wave behind that one looks to be even more promosing, at the moment the coded one near Cape Verdes looks to be a fish (doesn't hit any land), of course things can change though.
