I'm doing some research on housing stock in the Idaho Falls area...Mainly looking at the region all the way south from Shelley up to Idaho Falls and Ammon and north to Rexburg. Do any homes actually have backyard pools in this region?

My natural inclination from my visits to the area would be to assume almost no one would have an outdoor pool in this area(or even indoors or covered)--and that's just from looking at the homes I've seen and the general climate. But would any of the nicer homes actually have an existing backyard pool?

I'm going to guess that you're talking about in ground pools? There are actually a few, in fact I have a co-worker whose parents have one indoors.

I would say very, very few. We have several friends with large, upscale homes, and frankly, it's not worth the cost because the summer season for actually using a pool is quite short here. I do know of one home for sale in Idaho Falls with an indoor pool. Some people do buy the above ground round pools too. I think we get more bang for our buck here putting in a shop or playset than a pool.

I know of two. One on Crowley Rd just south of First Street in Idaho Falls. Another is located in Rexburg up on the hill by the water tower.

I know of a few, but they are all rather small. Idaho Falls has never been a swimming pool kind of town.
