We finally made it. For now we're in a hotel but obviously can't stay here forever. We've been looking all over town for houses and waiting hopefully for an imminent offer on our house in MN.

So can someone tell me what the age demographics are of neighborhoods like Rose Nielson (sp?), Shamrock Park, Stonebrook? We'd like to end up in an area with a good balance of elementary through high school kids. Some are obviously too lopsided one way or the other. Any suggestions?

Our price range is about 180-200 (if we want to pay off a house in a shorter amount of time), to 350 (if we want to be in debt till we're hobbling around with our walkers.)

Our initial idea was to be in district 93 but we're having a harder time finding a house we like and can afford there. So lately we've included Idaho Falls high school in our search.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

There are a lot of good houses available for 180-200k in the city limits.
I suggest you look things over, pick out a few strong possibilites, then call the school district offices. They should give you a good picture of the demographics of the schools related to your choices.

One of the advantages in Dist. 91 schools is their relative closeness to the neighborhoods they serve. I see lots of moms walking their kids to school in my neighborhood and in others as well. The closeness also allows less effort to go and talk to the teachers and school events.

Dist. 93, depending on the location, makes this impossible and/or dangerous in many neighborhoods, as there are few sidewalks next to most of the high-traffic roads.
