At appearance Ucon seems to be a peaceful little town. Beware, nobody keeps their dogs contained so you can't walk your dogs without dealing with canine confrontations other than that it is great if you don't mind neighbors in your business, taking your lawn mower and walking in your house at their own free will. The Ucon (mormon) Water Association is a whole other story. I mean really, is it like this everywhere or is it just Ucon?

Shoot the dogs if they come on your property. Then maybe the owners will commence containing them.

The dog is the innocent one here, why shoot a defenseless animal?

Question Who Has Jursidiction in Ucon?

Doesn't Ucon (or is it Iona) have its own Mayor and City Council? If so, can't you make complaints about animals? Otherwise it is 8B County Deputies.

Small towns tend to have everyone knowing a lot about their neighbors. That can be good and/or bad, depending on the situation.

What do your friends experience in other location of 8B County, weesta 10?

Hope your own situation improves.

Default Ucon

Ucon is unique in its status. I agree with most of the postings here that state that everyone knows each others business. Our current City Council is a joke and the Mayor is known to deceive the people. We had a council member that didn't show for almost 50 percent of the City Council Meetings. He was there to receive his monthly check and benefits, but the Mayor did nothing to make him pay back what he owed to the public.

This town is one of those if you do not go to the local church, you will be looked at in a different light. The streets are in horrible repair, there is no curb and gutter, the City Employee does little to clear the streets when there is snow and ice.

Our previous Mayor and other employees came out after a snow storm and made sure that everything was safe before the community went to work. Don't expect that from our current mayor. Our Police Protection is a joke, the guy they hired is never on duty and does nothing to help the community. He is another one that is there for a paycheck and doesn't even live in the City. He lives in St. Anthony. Go Figure. Time for a change, get rid of the Mayor and his double talk and vote someone in that will do the job, not just for those he attends church with.

Ucon has a cop? Wow. First Ammon, now Ucon. When did these towns get so uppity?

If he's not doing anything for you you still have the BCSO or the .357 caliber option stated above. I doubt anyone would complain.

I agree, if they aren't working for the residents, vote them OUT of office.

One interesting thing about Ucon than some don't know, is there is a branch of the library there. Not sure if it is a Bonneville County branch or other name.

It helps for those not wanting to drive to the main branch in Idaho Falls.

Regarding jja100's comment about shooting the stray dogs....that's another reason why some people shouldn't be allowed to have guns. If it was meant to be a joke I didn't find it very funny.

Me neither. I thought I was clicking on a misspelled basketball thread.
