I saw the War Bonnet Round Up advertised today. We don't have anything posted about the cool things going on this summer/ early fall. Let's start posting, please, so our new friends know about events from the Duckies in the River, the Melaleuca Freedom Festival on the 4Th, the Parade on the 4th, the great guitar display at the Museum of Idaho, concerts at various venues and always all the events the IF arts council puts on.

I'm a big fan of battle of the bands and what you to be called Youth Jam.

Www.idahofalls.magazine will probably have a lot of info.

Looking forward to what others add.

Zoo classes/camp for kids through Mid- August. City of Idaho Falls - Tautphaus Park Zoo. If that doesn't work try all small letters. Worse case possible look up Tautphaus Park Zoo.

Darn, the post is gone.

Remember the free concerts on Tuesday nights near the IF Art Gallery. For more info : The Idaho Falls Arts Council.

And Alive After Five is another free concert series by the Greenbelt downtown. Lots of vendors and other fun things if I remember correctly.

Enjoy!

Rock the Falls was at Sandy Downs on Sat. 6/22. Now a concert with 38 Special has been announced for a Melaleuca Field.

I agree with the DJs who point out if we support these concerts many more Promotors will be familiar with attendance/ demand in Idaho Falls so better concerts can be scheduled at the Events Center as well Sandy Downs and Melaleuca Field for different venues to have new concerts thought the year.

I hope others will post events here. I know what I'm interested in for events. Please share some things you are looking forward to this summer/early fall.

Thanks,

MSR

Celebrate America on 6/29 at Hunstman Springs Resort in Driggs. Free, I believe. Starts at 4:00 pm with food, contests which have some nice prizes, and fireworks.

This could be a really interesting event and chance to see the Resort.

If you plan on going to the 4th of July activities in Idaho Falls, including the Melaleuca Fireworks, check the news for streets that will be blocked off for 1 day or more. I know KIFI has a link. The city probably does too.

A You Tube of the Fireworks from last year: YouTube

Let's hope more people post more pics this year!

I haven't even posted about the Melaleuca dinner and other events. There is an official website with times of the dinner, baseball game and fireworks. Just search for Melaleuca Freedom Festival 2013 on a good search engine and you'll find the info.

I saw the list of events planned for each Eastsrn Idaho community with 400 or more people. WOW! So many choices, so many things too do. My aging mother ( who would give me a stern lecture for describing her as "aging") is playing with a local orchestra in an area where a Pancake Breakfasf with the trimmings is also served at no cost.

The 4th of July allows us many opportunities to share time with others. I'd encourage all to take time to get caught up with someone you've not seen or talked to in a while. Those memories are priceless and don't cost anything to create. Someday, you may be glad to have them if you lose that special person.

Plan on lots of water and sunscreen this year given the high temps!
