I'm looking for a black barber- Does anyone know of an African American barber in the Idaho Falls area? I'm not willing to travel to Pocatello, it's too far for me. Anyhow any suggestions will be helpful ;-))

You've got me on that one. Most often I do my husband's hair or he goes to Broadway Barber, which are women who do some mean flat tops. I will keep my ears open and if I hear anything, will let you know.

There was a salon on the West Side, in the same strip mall as the Albertson's, that used to do Afro-American hair. I don't know if they are still there.
If not, I suggest calling a couple of barbershops... they all know each other. I'll bet there are a couple of barbers who know how to do African-American hair well.

Idaho Falls is less than 1% Black, so I wouldn't expect to find any Black owned businesses there like barbershops and soul food restaurants.

Uhhh... You would be wrong, Nostalgia.
For sure, there was a black owned barbershop where I mentioned. I'm just not sure if it is still there or has moved.
And Grandpa's Barbecue offers soul food. It's a family-owned place, and I would put their barbecue up against anybody's any time.

Curly hair and good food have no color barriers here.

Pocatello was the first place that came to mind, but I read that it was out of the question. Idaho Falls is just over 1% Black now. US2010

Do you mean a barber who can cut a certain type of hair or does the barber need to be black? If you need a barber who can cut all types of hair try near a military base.

Hi, Deadtime...
The closest military base to Idaho Falls is 200 miles south. Not practical for a haircut. Good idea, though...
