Looks like the Double Down "casino" is trying to move to Sandy Downs from their exit 116 location. It makes good sense for the bar and grill.

Also, while driving down north Woodruff yesterday, there are many orange flags up in the fields, more than likely where the streets will go. Cool to finally see this get infilled.

? Between what streets? I saw the first bldg. permit for River Bend Lane, in the River Bend Development I posted earlier.

Do you mean north or south of Yellowstone, IFGuy?

They have to go through a hearing and rezoning. The county has not yet signed off on this as the Barnards still haven't provided all documentation. I posted about this at the beginning of the week in the ID forum under Historical horse racing. They are also waiting for the Supreme Court (Idaho) ruling, since the case was heard last week. I think they will get the zone changes etc. What betting can occur inside, isn't known yet. Perhaps paramutual could always be broadcast, IDK.

Where have you been finding the building permits?

I too saw some orange flags tied to metal posts. That usually indicates current property lines. I would hope to see the survey work start soon but more than likely would begin in fall or spring if the land is farmed.

Also, anyone notice a new commercial building up at beaches corner? I only saw it drivng by and had no time to stop & investigate. I could be wrong but the building did not look like the warehouse type that you would typically see on north yellowstone. Possibly even multi tenant. Makes me wonder if we may see another retail district around that intersection in coming years.

I've always thought that North Yellowstone would be a great place to welcome tourists to Idaho Falls, however with the area still a part of 8b it may be a while.

It once was, but all the old signage and all has disappeared over time. The same was once true with with the South Yellowstone.

I guess the city moved its efforts to I15.

I still dig the "don't laugh at the natives" sign.
