My husband, who is an over the road truck driver, and I are thinking about relocating to Idaho Falls, because his brother lives there. His brother has nothing but nice things to say about the place. My husband would like to work closer to home.
Our main reason for moving is that Rock Springs is much too small, has no good restaurants and no recreation. Also no employment possibilities other than the oil fields. Good money there if you can survive on no sleep. I work at a grocery store, very hard work, not great pay, but good benefits. I would consider transferring to a Kroger store.
The problem is that we have 2 dogs and 3 cats. We own a double wide trailer here and pay lot rent. We wouldn't want to move our trailer as it is very old and in bad shape. Are there any small houses available for reasonable rent? Any information about the area would be greatly appreciated. Also, are there any local trucking jobs available?

Yup. Andrus Trucking and several others advertise regularly for over the road drivers. if your hubby has a good reliable record, I think he could find a job, especially if he's willing to drive for a large farm or potato processor.
I'm sure you can find an affordable rental home for around $700 a month or thereabouts. Anything lower than that would probably be a dump or close to it. I don't know about double wide rentals, but I'm sure some are available.

Rentals are rentals- few owners want pets in their properties, but I found that a landlord will consider pets if you are willing to lay down an extra deposit. I was able to keep my old dog with no extra deposit once my landlord met her, and Idaho Falls is a pet-loving town.

We have a Smith's here, so you might be able to transfer from Kroger with all your bennies intact.

I think you'll like I.F. I've visited Rock Springs several times, and I know what you're talking about. I.F.'s climate is better, and it's a very well tended town with a lot of mature trees and lots of different neighborhoods. We have a lot of city recreation, and a lot of restaurants. The night life here isn't wild, but there is a variety of it. Overall, Idaho Falls is very family oriented and quiet.

I have a lead on a trucking company that has done nothing but treat my husband and I wonderfully, he's been there for over 5 years now, he was driving for Andrus prior to that for 16 years, but for his/our concerns they grew too big and can't keep drivers under loads.

Feel free to message me if you'd like more information
