Boise is a larger city than Idaho Falls is. However, both have outlaying areas to be considered if you're not needing to be close to either city.

What are your other expectations? Weather? Shopping? Airports?

We don't mind snow, id like not a to hot of a summer. right now we have 100 degrees miserable days. shopping isn't at all important. And as far as airports i dont' mind driving a distance to fly out.

That said, Idaho Falls tends to remain cooler even in Summer than the Boise area. We've knocked the 90's a few days this weekend, but it does last like the triple digits in the Central Valley of CA.

some may speak their minds about the Mormon influence here, but I don't think its as harsh as some claim. there is a growing Christian community in Idaho falls. Boise's is larger but that's a given. as to which city is better for raising family is entirely up to you. more people vs. less people. hope to see that you make it by here for a visit.
