It may just be me but I don't ever remember the number of events, gatherings, concerts and more that are available to everyone. Admission is usually an unwrapped toy (for the Marines Toys for Tots annual collection) or canned food for the Food Bank.

Also on 12/6, there is a community gathering which provides a Chili, Santa, carolers and hay rides with a firework show at the end. I think it goes from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. on Sat.

I was looking up a link and was happy to find this Youtube of the fireworks last year. All rights belong to the sponsors including: Bish's RV, Wendy's, Sand Hill Media and potentially other sponsors. I have no claims or rights to this video. I was thrilled to hear it end with T.S.O.!!!! I've missed seeing their finales and show. This finale copies a small bit of T.S.O.

Enjoy

From last year

Christmas in the Nighttime Sky - - 2014

If you know other details please post here. Remember, an unwrapped, new toy for a child of any age gets a person or family into the fun.

Hopefully, we'll be add other events and concerts frequently. If you know of some please add them.

Cool Listings for Multiple Cities and Towns

Sandhill Media has certainly improved the graphics and coverage of events, IMO. Activities, celebrations and more from Pocatello to Mackay to St. Anthony and everywhere in between are covered.
There are even some for western WY.

Check out what's coming close to you

Default Museum of Idaho

Different than a lot of the musical programs and plays, the Museum of Idaho has an area for Nativity sets and other old quality decorations. The City donated their Nativity set and more to the museum. Some of the really elegant decorations the different Lutheran churches (and maybe others) used have also been donated.

It should be an interesting display.

Cleosmom, You are correct. I'm happy to be wrong

There is no admission fee to this exhibit and it includes Nativity Scenes from around the world, Gingerbread Houses, Decorated Trees and other Christmas decorations. I know various musical groups are performing at different times. They do not sell food or drinks in the Museum of Idaho (MOI). The sandwich shop close by is the closest food.

I called MOI to get detailed info. My 90+ year young mother plays with an orchestra scheduled for Sat. It might be a nice surprise for my mom if I could show up and hear her.

The MOI has different live entertainment each day. You can call (208) 522-1400 and ask about the live entertainment.

Also, they are displaying important decorations and more from other religions or beliefs, such as Quanza. The MOI are showing how the various beliefs all honor this special time of year. A lot of volunteers donating their time to the MOI and all the live musical entertainment, from more who volunteer their time to make this a happier time for others.

Have fun if you go

Cool Interesting

I challenged myself to go to the performance for a few minutes. I'm glad I did. The display is much more than I anticipated or could manage. But I got a pic of my mom playing with the strings section. Glad to see one guitar and hope one or two more guitar and cello players will join.

I somehow think that pic is going to become my mother's Christmas gift.

It's great to see younger students volunteering part of their Sat. Learning to play with adults and playing for the crowd. Idaho Falls has a rich background in music, it's good to see it continue.
