There are many parts of the estimated census I find interesting. Unfortunately, most of the Twin Homes, new houses etc. we saw built in 2015 will not show up as part of a city's population in this estimate as they weren't completed until fall. Those new homes should show up in next year's estimate of the 7/2016 population. The new starts this spring won't be reflected until two years from from now.

Sometimes it is easy to wonder how come the census isn't higher when new detached homes, Twin Homes, Condos and Town Homes are being sold so quickly. Think two years and the residents will show up.

I always forget that Bingham County has a population larger than Madison County. Perhaps partly that is because Blackfoot's census doesn't change much, and geographically it is such a large county. I suspect North -Bingham, the Shelley area, will reflect growth. The schools are full There could be pockets by Aberdeen or Snake River which ingredients are growing too, IDK.

What surprises you about this estimated population?

Those do look like pre- boom numbers. Seems how the current boom has just begun.

I've always thought I.F.'s numbers were low, not just because of me. Departments like Labor and others estimated Idaho Falls
> 60,000 on 7/1/2015. Yet the census doesn't confirm that. There are probably many reasons for the state estimate and official census to be different. But one thing I've learned for the first time ever this year is some neighborhoods were never annexed in the city. I'm not talking about entire subdivisions, just a road of 30 -40 houses here and there. One is Merlin north of Sunnyside. Merlin south of Sunnyside is annexed. There are reasons this didn't happen. There are islands of 8B throughout Idaho Falls. The County Commissioners have asked Idaho Falls to annex those island ofland in the next two years.

Win, lose or draw, here are the estimated stats for Ammon and Idaho Falls from 14 months ago.

Ammon probably reached 15,000 the next day after these were compiled.

And Idaho Falls near 60,000, but none of last year's construction was completed in time.
