This makes me happy to see. Finally, there is a formal club where community members between 21 -35 y.o. can meet. The club will be named the Eagle Rock YP Civitan Club. The first meeting is Wed. at 6:00 p.m. Contact the Idaho Falls Civitan Club for more details.
I know from reading the census data and in other ways there is a group of 21 -35 y.o. people who would like to meet each other. It's not that there aren't others locally, it's that we have some very conflicting schedules here. INL bus riders don't have some of the flexibility es many others do. Likewise, educators have responsibilities for different responsibilities depending on their schools, district and school schedule etc. Business owners potentially have the longest working hours but maybe have more flexibility. Healthcare professionals have changing schedules.
Stated goals are: 1. Wanting to get involved in the community, 2. Networking and 3. Socialization and making new friends.
Please share this information with those you know who could benefit. As far as I know, a residence in a certain city isn't required. This is a chance to find others who care about the community issues that matter to you. Maybe that is networking to find a restaurant who will stay open all night Saturday and Sunday morning. tmp4 raises this issue and others. I see them as legitimate issues. It's very possible a local restaurant may make that change if they knew they would have X customers during that time. Many attend the TED conferences. I wouldn't be surprised if a group could help the Events Center board where they are stuck.
