Anywhere there is access along the south fork of the Snake River all the way into Swan Valley. Any area reservoirs will do to. Most of the summer tourists are gone and even the locals aren't fishing as much. With the end of irrigation season the Snake River has dropped to a very nice level making it easier to get out on sandbars and you can see where the deep holes are as well.
A bit of advice for you, if you have a pair of waders and aren't afraid of a little walk off the beaten path you'll get into some nice waters where you hook up on some nice brown, cutthroat and rainbow trout. They are at the end of their spawn cycle and are hunkering down a bit in the deeper water. The best time to get after it is between 11 and 5 and if the sun is shining, you'll catch plenty. Since it sounds like you're using bait, you'll have no problem as that's what they'll be looking for. I went just yesterday and snagged 8 that were no less than 14" in about a three hour span...ran out of worms though. Good luck if you hit the south fork.
