Oakhammer - As a transplant to Idaho, I can heartily confirm the difficulties being accepted in business in Idaho. I am a degreed and experienced professional so it isnt the lack of skills. Idaho prefers (IMO) to hire their own and it has taken me 4 yrs to get a handle on how to integrate into the business world here. Mind you, all industries are differrent in their own way. I moved here from Austin, TX but wasnt from there- that didnt matter. All people heard was, "I am not from Idaho". I do enjoy living here, I love the landscape and low drama culture. I do prefer a more welcoming and accepting environment more to be found on the West coast. But hey, its still worth living here if you just come in with a humble attitude and work hard at what you do. Hope this provides some helpful insight.
