My husband, my lovely 2 kids, and I are relocating from Phoenix, AZ with the possibility of living in Rigby area. My kids are adopted. My little boy is Hispanic and my little girl is white. How do people react to those families. We are LDS but I fear discrimination for my little boy. Are there are lot of influx of Hispanics to this area so he is not alone?

We do get stares down here from some Mexican families when we are out shopping. They always look at my son and then at us.

Our LDS ward family does not treat us any differently. Atleast I do not really recognize if they did... We are a swirl of a family. Im just hoping that we will not regret the move.

You will be ok. My middle kids are half native and are very dark and of course I am whiter than white, they are not adopted though. We use to get stares but not anymore. There are tons of LDS families on the East side that have adopted children of cifferent backgrounds so you don't have anything to worry about.

You should find out the stake that you will be in and find out what you can about your area from them. They will give you tons of info and even help you find a place. There is a new stake center there on County Line rd, as well as tons of new houses.

Yes you'll be stared at in Idaho but it's not a racial thing. Idahoans stare at everyone

And yes there are a lot of hispanics here. The population was around 8.2 percent in Bonneville County as of 2005 according to census data but it has probably doubled since then according to a recent news story.
