Saw this on the news last night, after we had just rented two movies from the 1st St. location on Saturday. Sure enough, I went to return one of them last night and the doors are locked, signs posted and paper all over the windows so you can't see inside. Wow...

Yeah, I saw that on 8's website. Been awhile since we've rented from there, usually hit Hollywood or borrow from a friend who seems to buy all of them

How you liking these cold temps? Makes it perfect to stay in and watch a movie

I think Blockbuster is feeling the pinch and getting burned by Netfilx, local stores are just too expensive with the Redbox and Netflix and such around.

They are just to darn expensive especially with Netflix and the REDBOX at McD's. Plus we quit using them years ago because they accused me of stealing/never returning a movie that I had returned. Plus it was something like 3.99 or more for a new release for one or two nights. At Redbox you get it for a buck a night... a lot better deal if you ask me.

I'm not sure if the I.F. blockbuster was the same way, but Pocatello's BB refused to participate in the "no late fees" program. I haven't been back since, and will continue to use netflix. I wouldn't be surprised if this starts happening all over if they don't start offering a competitive package and policy.

Netflix is awesome! 8 bucks a month for all the movies we want, including simultaneous live access on multiple computers!

We don't have too many of these "red box" things in California. The first place I saw them was in Boise.

Anyways, Netflix is great! Usually movies show up within a day or two. Sometimes you sort of need to plan ahead but for the most part it is very convenient.

Thumbs up Thanks for the Netflix Info

Thanks everyone for the info about Netflix. I've been wondering about using that service.

Redbox - let me relay one experience. There is a limit of how many movies can be checked out at one time. And you'd better make a list exactly of what order you checked them out, if you are returning them close to the 24 hr. mark.

Given the totally unpredictable weather and ability to be on roads certain days, it was close to 24 hrs. when I returned 3 movies. My BAD. I checked them in the wrong order. Consequently, I got charged for an extra day for all, despite I had the return time already emailed to me.

Still, $2.00 instead of $1.00, I don't know how any other business can really stay open.

I'm mostly use to Direct TV movies, but lately with the storms, I can't get clear reception, thus the Redbox decision.

Cleosmom, where and how do you meet all these friends that have all of the DVDs? Just teasing, well mostly teasing. I don't have the need to buy all the DVDs I want to see. Rental works for me.
