Actually we were east of the river, we went from the courthouse via D to Canal I think, my friend made a detour to show me what she was talking about, but definitely east of the river. Sorry to hear a similar neighborhood on the other side, the area I was shown was quite small but within those few blocks everyone we saw on foot and in passing vehicles looked suspect. By that I mean appearing to be under the influence or suffering the consequences thereof. I was really suprised. My friend's sister had steered her away from H street because she works with local courts and so is familiar with current criminal activity in IF.

You are correct, Cleosmom. What a DUH moment for me I was geographically challenged there for a moment. Seeing the streets, but not considering a few other major landmarks.

West of the river would be on Lindsay Blvd and Hotel Row.
DOUBLE DUH on my part. Good thing I wasn't driving and giving directions or we may have ended up in the river or elsewhere

Unfortunately, that neighborhood does have criminal and other activities I wouldn't want my neighbors to have. That doesn't mean that some really GOOD people live there, as some do. It means be selective and careful in that neighborhood.

Sorry about the confusion, NCM. Thanks for catching my error, Cleosmom.

No worries, just didn't want newbies to be confuzzled or lost

Yes, that area is a hit/miss part of town. Even though crime can happen anywhere any time, seems to be a tad heavier there than other areas.

Note to IF or those passing through IF: I've been listening to the police scanner lately and they are hitting Hitt RD/ 25th East big time!! One officer had someone pulled over almost constantly yesterday
