Hey everybody. I may be taking a position for a job in Idaho Falls come some time after January. I am currently 20 years old, and Single. I was born and raised in Central California, and have been living in Southern California for the past 6 months. I hate it here. I'm definitely not your average kid from California. I'm deeply attached to Jazz, and have performed in music programs throughout my high school life, and would love to keep that going if possible. I don't go clubbing, and have actually never felt the need to go to giant house parties or anything like that. I'm definitely alot more mature than alot of people my own age.

I would like to see what it is like in Idaho Falls, to try and get an idea of what everyone there does, or gets out of life. I am definitely more for the simple things in life. What is there in the area of furthering my education? The job I might be taking is a technician position at the BMW Dealership in Idaho Falls, and I plan on furthering my education as an engineer, and moving up with BMW North America. I am also still tied between Music Performance as a Major as well, so any info on those two things would be great.

What are the people like? Where I grew up, we didn't really talk with our neighbors, where I'm living now, almost everyone thinks they are the greatest person alive. I'd love to have neighbors, and actually get to know them. I am extremely easy to get along with, and often make friends with everyone I meet. Its just who I am.

Any feed back on any of this, or things that I'm sure I missed would be great help. Can't wait to hear from you everyone!

If you're a people person, no matter you're age I think you'd do fine here in Idaho Falls.

We do have Jazz here Artist Bio

Kevin is awesome on the sax and Liatt has a great voice.

People in Idaho for the most part tend to be laid back, friendly and outgoing. We're still small town enough that folks wave at you as they drive by if you're out front doing the yard work, small businesses and your neighborhood grocery still will often know your name. As you're only 20 you're not old enough to remember what Central CA was like back when I was growing up in Fresno in the 70's/80's. We knew our neighbors and most of the neighborhood, but it's gotten too large there for that any longer.

Oh Fresno huh? I grew up in San Jose, and moved to Los Banos when I was about 10 or so.

Are there lots of things for people my age to do around there? Not really party or go clubbing or any of that. Just like hang out places (coffee shops, things like that) Or even Malls or anything of that nature? Just places where I could meet more people my age I guess you could say. I'm not saying I wouldn't like having friends older than me, but its always nice to know people in the same age group.

There are becoming more things to do for people your age. Given your career, you may want to get connected with Eastern Idaho Technical College at Welcome to Eastern Idaho Technical College both to see what mechanics classes you may take and get connected with more in the student body.

There are becoming more coffee houses and other places to be with friends. I think learning about them is usually a bigger deal and happens by word of mouth, mostly.

There is also University Place where ISU and U of I have thousands of students. Many are non-traditional (probably older than you), but many are doing their core courses there as it is cheaper. University Place in Idaho Falls - you can get more info from good general search engines.

I'd start connecting with people now, if possible. Then there will be some to help you move in and show you around.

Hope this helps. I agree with cleosmom, I think you'll be fine.

Thanks alot. I think I've finally decided to look further into this. I will contact the dealership about the position tomorrow, and see what happens from there. Hopefully it works out good, and I can get what I'm looking for. I'll let everyone on here know how it goes. Thanks for all of your input. Hopefully I can meet some younger people on here, or even get to know some of the older ones before, and if I do end up moving here.
