I'd move to Sandpoint if I were you...sounds like you would be a perfect fit!

I drove from Denver to Houston in March and (no offense) but I can't imagine why anyone would live in Texas...there is nothing to do there.

The city of Sandpoint would be much more restrictive than unincorporated Bonner County as far as building inspectors, etc.

I will not be building in a city. I am through with cities and their little governments. I may, however, rent a home while we find the land and build the home. It will be fun finding a rent house where I can park a camper and 2 tractors. Most likely, it would have to be an old farm house somewhere in the country.

Good for you! I would recommend the Priest River area. It's beautiful (not the town, though they're working on it) and while not as sought after as Sandpoint, it's more of an authentic north Idaho town. Not overrun with tourists and retirees or people looking to continue their suburban lifestyle with a scenic backdrop.

I meant the area....I didn't mean live as close to downtown as possible.
