Hi all, My family and I are looking to move to ID from AZ. I travel and telecommute for employment so a job is no problem.

We are looking for an area without over-burdening zoning restrictions. We have a small ranch and are looking for an area that we could construct out buildings without having to go through an intensive permitting process. Does such a critter exist in ID?

We are also looking at a part of ID that is rural, 4 seasons and has trees.

Any suggestions/comments would be appreciated. Thank you.

Bonner County (North Idaho...specifically the Sandpoint area) fits your criteria.

Sage,
Do you know what the growing season is there or where I could find the information? Thank you.

I would think that anywhere in unincorporated Bonner County would be better than in Sandpoint or Priest River since those towns have their own permitting process, including a building inspector which the county doesn't have...yet. Not sure about the other towns.
