With some regret I post these links, but I guess someone should. Those who have known me in my short tenure on this forum may have noticed that I live in and like Pocatello a lot, and am an advocate for it. However, I'm becoming more reluctant for the secret to get out. I welcome more diversity, but I'm afraid of unchecked growth.

From an Idaho Statesman article:
"Outdoor Life magazine's April issue ranks Lewiston second and Pocatello fifth for best places for hunters and anglers to call home in the nation. Coeur d'Alene made the list at 31, Payette at 34, and Rexburg rounded out Idaho's contributions at 43 for the list of 200 towns."

The cover also features a classic shot of Silver Creek, which is not near any of their top towns.

In ranking Lewiston and Pocatello, Outdoor Life looked for places with "world-class hunting and fishing, easy access to public land and water, and vibrant economies that remain affordable and hospitable."

Full list here.

Pocatello also again made the list of best small places for business and careers published by Forbes magazine. Magazine executives also placed twenty-five small U.S. Cities in order and Pocatello came in at number twenty-two.

Coeur d'Alene also made the list at 21.

Boise ranked near the top for Metros at number two in the larger Metro category of best places for business and careers.

"According to the article, they took into consideration factors like solid job growth, an educated labor supply and low business costs."

Thats why I love pocatello because you can get to the mountains so easy! Ive lived in many places, and pocatello is the best by far!! I dont think ill ever leave here! With the trees and mountains and streams, it doesnt surprise me that pocatello ranked so high, everytime I go on a drive I see wildlife!

I personally gotta question a list that puts Show Low Arizona ahead of Coeur d'Alene, and Oregon ahead of Idaho on gun laws.. Ya ever been to Show Low??..LOL.. Just my opinion, but alot of that seems kinda out of whack.
