Hi
I am a bit confused - I have been asked if we have signed a contract with a realtor in Idaho - "pending our upcoming move to Idaho"
We have not signed anything that we are aware of - and by aware of - we did receive from a realtor - a form (brochure) something about "real estate by the State of Idaho?? - not even sure what it was? but we signed it? Stupid huh
Anyway - do you need a realtor to rent a home there?
When we are ready to buy next year (after deciding where we want to be) we will then 'get' a realtor - but why sign a contract if you are the buyer?
thanks for all your help

Deem,

I'll email you. You don't need a realtor to rent a house.

Did you sign something called Agency Law? Where they leave you a little brochure describing the difference between being a customer and a client?

Default Just a thought!

DON'T SIGN ANYTHING until you FULLY understand what it says!

Been there, DONE that! Wasn't a good thing!!

Please understand exactly what you are signing; what it says, and most importantly, WHAT IT MEANS for that particular state's laws!

This is a great place for you to ask candid questions, and get candid answers! But be certain you get answers to your personal questions and specific answers relevant to the state/city/county that you live in or looking to buy property in, and find out what the governing agencies require before you sign any document.

We are looking at the possibilities of buying property on the east coast (now currently in North Idaho) ...the taxation is different there; the land values are different; not to mention the 'rules of business' ...all things we are looking into.

We're looking forward to all of this adventure, and hope you are doing the same with looking into Idaho as your next home. Good Luck! It is a most magical place to live! If we can answer any of your questions, please just ask!
