Friends, Neighbors, members of my "Idaho Family" that I have not yet met, discussion of posted news links is strongly discouraged in this thread. In the past, "limited" discussion has been allowed; but in the case of extremely controversial topics, no good ever comes of it. What the Boise City Council did last Tuesday evening is "news" and of interest to not only the residents of Boise, but the entire state.

A new thread for discussion of the Council's action in either the Idaho or Boise forum is warranted. (But personally, I expect it to devolve into ill feelings toward each other, and the thread will have to either be closed or deleted in its entirety.)

Carry on.

State of Emergency declared in Boundary County

They really got hammered with snow over the past few days up near Bonners Ferry. Plenty of snow down here in Sagle, but nothing like they got further north.

Meanwhile, the temps in the south have been in the 40's, and all the snow here is melting fast.

Twin Falls is undergoing flooding today, and Salmon may be flooding, but I haven't heard anything about there. The temps are forecast to stay warm and w/ possible rain.

NID is getting some of the arctic air that's sweeping down on the east slope of the Rockies, while further south it's all coming in from the Pacific. Man, what a winter!

This is only early February, so I expect it to become cold again before the month is gone, but so far, I've been wrong ever since the first big storms over Christmas.

When Immigration Politics and Faith Collide | "The idea of aiding refugee communities is not a remote or optional part of the Christian life from a Catholic perspective." | Citydesk | Boise Weekly

Quote:
Under the domed ceiling of St. John's Cathedral in Boise's North End neighborhood, the teachings of the prophet Isaiah echoed during the Liturgy of the Word. In the passage, Isaiah tells the Jews to clothe the naked, feed the hungry and shelter those in need.

Most People Have Never Heard The Eerie Legend Of Idaho's Bermuda Triangle

Tucked away in east Idaho, near the Wyoming border and on the edge of the Caribou-Targhee National Forest...

Wanda Peavey (1994) claimed a band of apparitions caused her to swerve off the road. David Massett (1989) stated that he felt his car sliding as though on ice, despite driving in the middle of summer.
