Finally...it seemed to take forever this year, but it's finally, officially spring here on the river.
The wind is blowing hard and the rain is coming down in sheets but a few brave spring peepers are croaking.
I love peeper night!!

Are you sure they aren't just calling for help because they're drowning??? (hey, maybe that's what you meant by "croaking"???) I'm getting really sick of this weather, starting to feel like a frog myself.

Poor things..I'll have to see if they're peeping tonight or maybe they did croak. The only good thing about the amount of rain we're getting is that it isn't snow.

Unfortunately, you don't have to go very much higher before all this rain is snow. I was really hoping to get into the mountains before August this year.

Misty glad spring is finally starting to happen for you. Was really warm here today until the storm moved in. Still not a cold storm. Just windy.

Ugh. It tried that here for a short while but thankfully, the rain beat it back.
Sneaky weather!

We're planning a big Boston trip for this summer. Youngest daughter has never been and we have so much to show her. It's so nostalgic for us. But sad news,... Buzzy's Famous Roast Beef has closed!

It's still too cold here for peepers, but I just sat out in my back yard with my dogs and listened to the wolves calling back and forth. I have Huskies and I always hope they'll start howling along, but they haven't yet. Such a beautiful sound. I love living where I have this wildlife out my door!

I have an acquaintance who lives in Jackson Hole. I can't believe how long winter stays there! You're a stronger person than me, for sure, though I'm sure the sheer beauty makes it worth while.
I love wolf music too. I wish I heard more of it.
The sounds of living here are so much a part of the whole. The river always running, wolves, coyotes, the calls of ravens, eagles and osprey, elk bugling in fall.
The worst thing I can imagine would be to have to move to a subdivision in the 'burbs somewhere and have people hemming me in and listen to traffic noise and lawnmowers.
