My wife and I were in heaven on this trip, just got back last night. Seemed like every turn had a postcard picture waiting for us to see. The people were so kind in CDA (everywhere for that matter). We spent a day driving up through Hayden and into Sandpoint.

Ate at The Loading Dock, great wood fired pizza. Headed up to Schweitzer to have some adult beverages to watch the fireworks they had going Saturday night. The blurry red lines in one of the pictures was me playing with my camera while shooting the patrons skiing down the hill with flares/sparklers to start the show. Got some awesome sunset pictures from the lodge at Schweitzer looking over lake Pend Oreille.

Saw a bald eagle on the east end of the lake (CDA) and plenty of wildlife (Turkey, Deer, etc.). Saw some moose but couldn't stop safely to get a good picture. We ate at Jimmy's for breakfast every morning. Loved the place so much we just kept going back. Very nice people.

Got about 1 hour of fishing time in on the CDA river. 3 bites - none landed. With the cold temps I did all streamer fishing (no dries or nymphs). Didn't dedicate nearly enough to fish but we had so much travel planned I was ok with it. We'll be going back in the summer and I'll be spending days on the water fishing when I have my kids with me.

Visited Silver Mountain and went up the gondola to check out the scenery (no skiing at all on this trip). Had some Idaho Nachos and a few IPAs. We ate at Bonzai Bistro in CDA Sunday night and it was great sushi. The chefs there are great people - had some good conversations while catching NFL playoffs on the tube at the sushi bar. We also ate at Wolf Lodge Steakhouse the first night on Friday and all I have to say is....WOW! Loved the ribeye and the potato and bread. Everything was great there. Had Moosedrool on tap. (if you haven't noticed I'm a beer connoisseur).

Most importantly, we were able to scout numerous neighborhoods/land and tour the area for schools and drive times, etc. We packed so much into 4 days that we are looking forward to going back in the summer to spend more time in the areas we really enjoyed.

Quite a few photos here but these are just a fraction of the photos we took. Thought it would be nice to share for those who want to see.

Cheers

Beautiful! Can't wait to see Idaho through the eye of your camera during a summer visit! And thanks for the narrative, too. Apparently you managed to spend 3 weeks in 4 days!
