Hi Ladyjet, I found your comment very interesting. What did you mean about being careful where you live up there. I am a teacher considering moving to either Moscow or Cda. Are those "safe" places to live? What is the meth situation in those areas? Thanks, Joe

Meth isn't much of an issue in Moscow.

I can't think of anyplace that is physically dangerous to live in ID from a crime standpoint.

Anyhow, check CD crime stats and you'll find Moscow and CDA are well below the national average.

There are meth problems in most places anymore. I know there are many children in foster homes that are there because of meth issues with their parent/parents. It's not like you see meth addicts laying in the streets, but it exists. There are not "tons" of survivalists living in Idaho. Yes, there are some but I don't personally know of any. I am sure there are people that live off the grid that are survivalists and that would be a lifestyle that would not be an issue up here, but it is not as extreme as one would think.

Safe is a relative term. We have lions, bears and wolves around most of the Panhandle...but I wouldn't say that makes it unsafe.
