Not as far as I know, but I haven't been by there in a long time. The Mexican place is the hopping place now and they deserve to be. Decent food, a cozy atmosphere and really nice owner and servers.

Move to Newport, Washington just across the state line from Priest River.

If you have a low consumption lifestyle Washington is much cheaper than Idaho. No income tax. No tax on food.

Also Pend Oreille County PUD is building out a municipal fiber system. You can get 100 Mbps fiber internet for $60.00/month. It will probably will be a long, long time before you get fiber in Priest River.

We have had municipal fiber through our PUD for over a decade now. It is great!!

Thanks for the link and info. I like the sound of the town and the grocery store! Sounds like the kind of town we'd like. Maybe we'll make it up there for a visit, but my husband is turned off by the winters -- I'd love it. It's what I get for marrying a So. Ca. boy.

Where is the Mexican place in town? I'm not placing it right now? Thanks.

Right on Highway 2, near NAPA. The building has housed a few different restaurants in the time we've been here but this one has really taken off. Only downside is their liquor license apparently doesn't include tequila so it's beer and wine only and they make margaritas with wine.
