I am so excited! My husband and I leave for Idaho in 3 weeks to job and house search. We'll be staying in CDA, but looking at properties both north up to Sandpoint and East to Kingston. Even though this is an official task trip we'd still love to do a few special things. What would you recommend to see, do, or check out while we're up there? We already know we want to do some hiking. What's your favorite spots? What are some of your favorite places to eat? We can't wait till we get there! I'd really appreciate any of your recommendations!

This isn't a very long hike but my dog and I did it back in October. Very pretty hike.

Mineral Ridge Scenic Area and National Recreation Trail

I'm a foodie, so the Porch Public House on Miles, east of the 95, next to the golf course has some really good food (the beer ain't bad either).

Ya gotta eat, right?

Take a drive to Farragut state park, there is a beautiful path that walks you along the lake not to mention all the history of the naval base that was once there, it is amazing. Highway 95 to 54 and follow the signs. Farragut State Park, an Idaho park located nearby Coeur d Alene, Hayden and Rathdrum

Foods good! I assume we'll be eating once in a while while we're there. This place sounds like somewhere we'd enjoy. A little cabin off the beaten path with good food! I'm game! can't wait to try it out! Thanks so much!

We are actually looking at a property for sale right across from here. We will definitely take advantage! So exciting! Thank you!

If you're in Sandpoint on a clear day you might drive up to Schweitzer. The skiing season may be over by then, but the views are still there, and free! Fantastic views of Lake Pend Oreille. And as long as you're in Sandpoint, hang out at MickDuff's for their burgers and homemade fries. Of course you'll also be able to do those things once you're NID residents!

In CDA," Michael D's" is great for breakfast," Capones" on 4th for great lunch and "Iron Horse" on Sherman has a great ribeye and other dinners. Tubbs Hill has some pretty scenic hiking right in town.
