My family and I are currently living in the north San Francisco Bay Area (…but pleazzzze don’t pigeon hole us…LOL!) and are looking at the Hayden “Area” as a possible place to move to in a couple of years when I retire. At that point it will only be my wife and I.

We love the outdoors, organic vegetable gardening and along with having chickens.

What we would like is a 3 to 5 acre (give or take) piece of property, with a home 1,800 sq/ft or somewhat less with an attached garage as well as a detached workshop that I can set up for my interest in wood and metal working. My wife wants trees to boot. We would like to be less than ½ hour away or less from a COSTCO or a lumberyard…but outside of the city limits.

So my questions would be:

1. What areas should we look at that will not get the prairie winds or be minimized by it?
2. If you were just starting to look at the area – from your knowledge – what would be something you would like to know?
3. One concern is the Arian Brotherhood. Should this group be a concern or are they more on the way out?

Believe me, we are not interested in bringing California with us. Just looking for a community that we can be part of and have fun serving with.

Thanks!!
