I think if Boise metro shifted so far politically left that Idaho went completely "blue state", and you started seeing liberal agendas becoming law (gun control, etc) affecting the North you'd see North Idaho revolt. But I think it would take something as severe as a blue state takeover to actually drive the North to that drastic sort of measure...

I think efforts would be better spent trying to educate liberals about guns. Be proactive, not reactionary!

They had better leave this state alone. They already have CA. Imagine wall to wall suburbs all the way across the US and everybody paying a 70 percent tax rate. That is the dream of some politicians who love the European model. Don't do anything for yourself let the government do it. Yuck......

Im with Sage!...Boise is still staunch Conservative for the most part... States like Washington and Oregon are stuck with laws coming out of Seatle and Portland... Kinda sad to see great states like these being ruined by Kali style crap..... I think its gonna be a good long time before we see that sort of stuff for real in Idaho... At least I HOPE!!!

Only ONE little Blue county in Id.... And its where the Hollywierd folks like Ashton Cutcher go to pretend they are roughing it....

The other issue about a forming a new state is that it would take a new Missouri Compromise. There is no way the Federal Government would just allow the creation of a new red state.

Yeah, only one solidly blue county in ID (Blaine), but Latah (Moscow) went blue for Obama as did Teton (which had a big shift).

I like the idea of one state encompassing Eastern WA, North ID and Western MT. It all feels like one area to me, one area I really like, even if my politics are a little more blue than red.
