Hello,

We will be moving to Sandpoint in the very near future, and I am planning on restarting my current landscaping business there. Here in Fort Collins I design and install high-end new landscapes and sprinklers for builders and new homeowners. I plan to do that as well as a maintenance division for mowing and regular maintenance in Sandpoint. I also plan to offer demolition, land clearing, drainage, and caretaking/winterizing of vacant or vacation rentals.

I have a college degree and 20 years experience. I do pretty well here, have a great rep, and am honestly a little nervous starting over in a much, much smaller population. I do plan to work in Cda all the way north to Bonners Ferry, and expect to earn maybe half as much as I do here.

Is there room for another company based in Bonner County? I see there are several already but I hear they are all very busy and backlogged. I'll likely be doing it either way, but maybe somebody has some insight.

Thank you!

will not be easy unless you can offer truly superior service, cheaper rates, or some kind of novel differentiated service. Even if you are good, which I am sure you are, the pool of clients here is tiny.

A lot of handy people and informal arrangements. College degrees have or have not--won;t matter.

You do not have a large pool of people with needs that can easily sustain your business.

Winterizing: $30-$50 a pop
Mowing $30-$60 for a quarter acre

$30-$50 an hour for good world crews.

Sprinklers: Typical season is June through mid-late Sept.

hard to imagine it being cost effective if you cover BF to CDA!
CDA/Post Falls up to the border is a better bet biz wise (though a different scene).

Good Luck.

S.
