I have a question. Next week the movers come to pack us out and send our stuff to the port of Kawaihae to our sea container to head east. As of now, our contents will hit the port of Seattle and then will be picked up by Morganthaler in Spokane where it will sit.

We were told by the local moving company that they (Morganthaler) were the only outfit qualified to move our household goods from the port of Seattle to N. Idaho. The problem is that all of our stuff will be in Spokane and will take two weeks once it hits the port before they can get it to Spokane.

Has anyone ever moved from Hawaii and used a local north Idaho moving company to get your household effects to north Idaho?

I talked to a outfit in Post Falls last week when I was there, but not sure if they can deliver. Looked like a shady operation to me.

Thanks

You could try Diamond line trucking. They are Meridian Idaho based, and have a hub in post falls. Pretty sure they have one in Seattle too.

Are you looking for an alternative to moving your stuff from Seattle, or from Spokane?

I don't know if they can handle either of those cases, but other people have spoken highly of Sandpoint Movers, who are run by the same folks that own Millers General Store.

SS. Thanks for the input. I am actually having another company handle the move from the port to the hub in Post Falls. From there, they will unpack and deliver to a house or uncrate and move it to another storage unit for us.

They were extremely helpful and real nice folks.

They explained the do's and dont's with the military move. Saved us a lot of grief.

Glad everything worked out on your Move. I did moves like yourself when i was in the Navy, its a lot of hasseles sometimes. I know when i make my move again up to Idaho when i retire from Hawaii.
I'll be shipping household goods into and through Seattle! Hopefully it will go smooth like yourself.
