Hello: Can anyone give us the name of a new home builder in the area around Coeur d Alene or Sandpoint that you have had a good experience with?
What is a typical price per square foot in today's market?
We are not looking for a "showpiece" home, just something small, simple and energy efficient.
Any advice or information at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Sorry folks, the OP is asking for recommendations, not to be solicited...

As you know, a small house with several bathrooms and upscale kitchen can be pricey per sf...

Assuming 3BR/2BA home, 2500sf+, you can get a good builder to get you down near $100/sf (plus the cost of your land) for a pretty solidly built place with some nice mid-custom touches (granite, tile work, hardy-plank, etc). Mid-custom around $120-130/sf, and high custom is probably $150-170/sf. If you REALLY stripped it down, you could probably do $85/sf if you're lucky.
