Just wondering if folks in northern Idaho ever treck to Canada to buy medications, like some folks here in AZ drive down to Mexico for their meds. Is it cheaper for people without insurance, or is it done at all?

Maybe. We just go to Sandpoint Super Drug...it's easier. Driving 2.5 hours RT from Sandpoint has its costs in fuel and time, so I don't think I'd do it unless I didn't have insurance...

Although...making a trip to Creston during the summer to get all of the wonderful produce grown there would make it more worth my time. Oh yeah...there's always the Kokanee brewery which husbands seem to love.

Creston? Produce? Whooopeee! I'm there! It will be a year before I am able to retire and relocate from hot, dry AZ, as I hope to do, but this year will be spent learning as much as I can about the wonders of Idaho from great folks like those who post on this forum.

You've never SEEN so much fruit...cherries, plums, apples, cherries, berries, did I mention cherries?
Also, a little farther west is a very temperate/desert region (south of Vernon, BC to the US border) with tons of wineries and more orchards.
Buying meds in Canada could be a lot of fun!

Don't you have to have a Visa to cross the border now into Canada?

Nope, just a birth certificate or passport along with a drivers license.

Now you're getting me all excited...and at my age that isn't easy . Wonder if folks up there ever organize groups to go on such expeditions to Canada together? Here in the dread southwest it's very common for groups of people to get together for "shopping excursions" to Mexico where they rent a bus or van and go down for the day to get medications as well as other articles of clothing, art, leather, jewelry. Mexico sucks, it is hot, dirty and nasty, but the shopping is extraordinary and you can buy RX meds at any drug store for a fraction of the US prices.

Anyhoo...it sounds like a great way to spend a summer day, driving to Canada for fresh produce, fruits.
