We don't seem to have as many wildfires being discussed this year compared to last year. However, there are some and those in southern ID and Western WY, fairly close to the Idaho border, seem to keep growing. The rate of fire containment is not improving very fast given how dry it is.

Let's use this for wildfire updates for the state, if that wI'll wor for everyone. I know both residents and those who plan vacations in the remote areas do check these threads.

I hope we can get reports from residents throughout the state or neighboring states.

Default Pioneer Fire - Boise National Forest and More

The Pioneer Fire is increasing in size. Those who live in the Treasure Valley probably know the most about the ~ 16,000 acres. Here is one link:

Default Nice Extra Equipment to fight the Pioneer Fire

Various Fire Depts. around the state have sent personnel and/or equipment to battle the blazes. We in the Idaho Falls area are use to this gem for firefighters. However, it seems to be the only one in the state the Pioneer Firefighters have seen.

The article is worth the read. Expect more Fire Depts. to add one or more of these:

Default Cliff Creek

Cliff Creek firefighters have made huge progress the last two days. Now over 50% contained, that is great news!

The fire by Challis/Salmon is starting to become controlled.

Cliff Creek, at 27,000 acres is now > 90 % controlled.

It's good to see no one else has posted about fires. While we had hazy skies two days from the Pioneer Fire, no one else in the state has reported fires. That's better than last year!

Default How bad is it in CDA right now (Spokane fires)?

Up in Bonner's we were getting a good whiff of burning timber last night. Just curious how thick the air is down there for you guys today.

That's good to hear. We've had such a mild season this year compared to last year, I got a little spoiled with all the clean air this summer.
