Hi all,

I've tried researching for myself, but decided getting "possible" help from locals in Kootinai County might be a good idea. I am considered low-income, and now live in what the government calls 202 Housing for seniors over 62. I am 65 now, and would like to move to your area. I have family there, and no one close where I am living now.

I found just a couple of low-income for seniors, apartments in Kootinai County, but couldn't reach anyone that would send me an application. Probably the holidays are why, or the smaller complexes are not staffed on regular hours.

I am hoping to meet others that may be low-income, and know first-hand about an apartment complex I might try contacting, or, a loved one living in one. I don't need "assisted living", still, very independent. I will show you the website I have been searching, but as I said, I am not having any luck contacting anyone.

Even though I have family in Northern Idaho, I also want to be further north because I still love all, 4 seasons. And the mountains, I miss the mountains of the Northwest. I would like to live out my days back where I was born, although that is Oregon, and I, again, prefer to be closer to family.

Thank you for any help you might give me. I am not in a hurry, as I need to have be on a waiting list, I understand. Besides that, my truck needs new brakes before I travel far, give my landlords plenty of notice, etc.

PS I live in a tiny town now, and that is another reason I would like to move to Coeur D' Alene, many, more, things to do.

You have found a good list. Keep calling, leave messages. Some people don't pick up calls live. Ask for names / numbers of residents. Might not get them or might not till you prove you are serious / ready to act. May have to visit in person to get enough answers to your questions.
