Well it's not exactly just fine here, but Idaho is far different from California or most other states. So Idaho needs Idaho solutions to Idaho's problems.

Virtually no solution from somewhere else could be expected to work in a state where 1/3 of the population is physically isolated from the other 2/3, and where the other 2/3 are close to being as isolated themselves from each other.
With only one road connecting the north to the south, and only a few connecting east to west, our geography creates problems that would be trifling in another state, but are next to insurmountable here.

I understand the sentiments but while y'all are watching out for the California invaders, don't forget to look behind you. The democrat running for governor is a NATIVE of Idaho and has all the socialist views you dislike about those coming from California.

Something to watch I suppose, but with 194,000 total votes for Republican primary candidates and only 66,000 votes for Democrat primary candidates it would take something really strange in terms of voter turnout or a huge defection from Republicans to Democrats for Jordan to pull off an upset.

Default Ditto slow jon

Could not agree more slow jon.The state from which one moves from to Idaho is not the problem. The ideology is. Most Californians I talk to that are or planning on moving to Idaho live and vote right of center as I do.We are in the beginning stage working on the infrastructure of our Bonner co. land.Once we land we will add two more conservative votes. North Idaho truly is beautiful and the locals equally friendly. We can hardly wait!

Please educate yourself on Idaho politics before you move here and vote for a certain party just because you feel loyalty to a said party. Idaho politics, on both sides, are going to be a lot different compared to California. If you pay attention to Idaho news, you might find that some conservatives voted into office (especially from North Idaho) are a bit....strange and do not do anything to better Idaho; example Heather Scott.

Sorry to have offended you syringaloid but I do not recall mentioning a specific party. Not to worry though, we will behave.

I was not offended. And your very first post at City-Data reveals what party you most likely side with

That's superficially true. However, wherever you hail from will have molded your personality. A Los Angeles anti-tax "conservative", for example, will still likely lack the fundamental social character of someone raised in a less extreme liberal culture. Over time and given enough people that move from Los Angeles (for example), the character of the place changes.

Trust me when I state that few people would want Idaho to become the social equivalent of a "conservative" suburb of San Francisco or Los Angeles.
