I thought something was a little off yesterday. Was really hoping for a clean-air summer.

Same here.
We should charge Canada for taking their smoke.

If they turn around and charge for taking smoke from the USA, they will come out ahead.

Here in Sagle my rainfall measurement for May was a grand total of 1.0".

Normal is somewhere in the 2.75" range.

Looks like we're off to a dry start to the summer. I see Kootenai county has already stopped issuing burn permits, which is the earliest I've seen them do that.

Stay safe out there!

Dave

It's certainly disappointing for this to start so early.

Northern Alberta is on fire. Millions of acres have lit up.

Who would have ever thought such fires would start so early in the season?

The smoke has drifted own to 5 states here, and there are multiple wildfires burning- 8 so far, all out of control. This may be another summer of wildfire smoke, folks, but it's going to be far worse up north than it is here. Mozt of it is blowing toward the midwest and eastward, and we aren't getting the worst of it here.

Bad news, but count your blessings. If the fires jump the divide and spreads into B.C., the smoke could be much, much worse.

Thanks for the update. Sounds "bad". The smoke wasn't too harsh today and I was able to take a nice bike ride on the Centennial Trail from Higgens Point to the I-90 rest stop and back. However, just a few minutes ago, (about 11:30 p.m.), I walked down to the clubhouse to drop off something and I could definitely smell the smoke. Maybe the winds shifted a bit.
